BOBBIE ANN SELF

Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer

Bobbie A. Self is the visionary Founder, Executive Director, and Chief Operating Officer of Light & Legacy Performing Arts Academy, a nonprofit dedicated to nurturing young minds through faith-based performing arts education. With over two decades of leadership in both corporate and performing arts ministry settings, Bobbie blends her passion for the arts with a deep commitment to youth development and spiritual growth.

She previously served as a Membership Executive at a Fortune 100 financial institution and brings over 12 years of experience leading dance ministry at New Life Church in Decatur, GA, and 10 years at New Covenant Christian Ministries in Lithonia, where she leads the East Campus Dance Ministry and choreographs for the multigenerational Wings of Covenant dance team.  Bobbie also has extensive training in acting and has written and directed over 15 stage productions.

Bobbie is also a certified life coach and the founder of His Word N’ Motion, a community-based dance ministry that has ministered across the U.S., appeared in gospel music videos and stage productions, and led dance workshops and outreach programs. Her anointing to save souls through performing arts continues to inspire dancers of all ages, including the ministry’s newest group at New Covenant Christian Ministries, the Seasoned Saints, whose youngest member is 67.

As both Executive Director and COO, Bobbie leads Light & Legacy’s strategic vision and daily operations, ensuring each student (children to adult) receives an enriching, Christ-centered arts experience. Her holistic approach integrates performance, purpose, and faith to build confident, compassionate, and creative leaders.
